Suffering Magnets

Does everyone have these people?

The ones who pop up when you are really upset and end up making everything SO MUCH WORSE?

Inevitably, every time you're really upset there they are, like some sort of suffering magnet, ready to beat you down until you are quivering jelly on the floor with their special misery boot-imprint stamped right on your globby forehead.

It should be legal to set those people on fire.

Just sayin'.

    1. I'm right on top of that, Rose.
It does seem like it should be an inalienable right, though.

  7. These people are closely related to those who have what you have, but worse. You have bladder cancer? NpBe thankful you HAVE a bladder!

    1. I was just writing about how I might inadvertently be a one-upper (for a future post), but I think the people you describe might actually grief shamers. HOW DARE YOU BE SAD ABOUT SOMETHING!? People in the world suffer more so you should never have a negative feeling ever. Yeah. I am totally not one of those.

    2. Oops, I may be one of those people... just not as extreem. I call it being positive/looking on the bright side. It helps me through life knowing I am not as bad off as so many other people... But I don't throw it in other people's faces when they are really suffering something bad. But,if someone drops their cookie on the floor and then won't shut up about it, I would say something about it.

  8. And then everyone else in the world talks about what a good, supportive, sympathetic person Pain Magnet is...

  9. I think I'm an accidental one upper too. It's not that I want to be better, it's that I want to share my story too.

  10. I love the t-shirt you are wearing in this cartoon. Is it a real thing or did you draw it just to taunt me? I would love to get one for my son if it is a real thing.

    1. It is indeed a real shirt that I created and was wearing yesterday. I tried putting it on zazzle and they took it down. Let me see if I can't put it somewhere else for you. Stay tuned.
