Oh, I broke a nail!

When I was a kid, my sister and I used to crack up at the Lee Press-on Commercial that went like this:

Lady getting ready for a date.

Lady randomly jambs finger into wall then exclaims, "Oh, I broke a nail!"

Yadda yadda, buy plastic nails to cover up that you can't keep yourself from ramming your finger into walls for no reason. Now in GRAPE!

Only, after 32 years (I discount the years that I had no teeth in this figuring) I have stopped biting my fingernails*, and now, I have a little more sympathy for Ms. Lee Press-on, as I constantly ram my fingernails into things and myself because I am totally not used to them being there. Maybe I should invest in some Press-On Nails, just in case...

*I just forgot to do it in March of this year, and haven't really gotten around to it since... eventually, I'm sure I'll get back to it.

  1. Not in the least. Honestly, I really just forgot to bite them. I had no plans to stop. I had the same issue with smoking.

  3. Nope. I'll be 35 in October. I am often mistaken for a youngun' though, and sometimes get carded for buying lottery tickets.

  4. Lol I love that you're so busy you forgot to bite your nails.

I would worry about the fact that I rammed my finger into a wall just for shits and giggles more than that I broke a nail.

  5. You get super awesome bonus points for what is presumably a poster for Norwegian pop super-group A-ha in the background. Slightly fewer points if it is merely an exclamation of surprise regarding the strength, durability and fashion forward color palette of Lee Press On Nails.

  6. @Kelly, yes... I have a serious problem with spelling things correctly, but it was supposed to be an A-ha poster!

  8. I, too, thought that you were a mere youth! I guess it's because your sense of humor is so fresh. The picture of the nail whacking the wall gave me chills up my spine which is weird because it's a cartoon. Thanks for my daily laugh!

  10. Do not let anyone mock your age! I am 39 and a grandmom! And everyone always thinks I'm 29...it's weird. Oh and @adee4- I love "we wear short shorts"! I sing it every spring the first time it's warm enough out to wear shorts!

  11. I am a recovering nail biter... I think its like a drug addiction... You kinda keep coming back over and over when you are nervous or bored. And I too am of the mistaken age variety.... I'll be 36 in a couple of weeks and get carded when I look at the wine section.
