How I learned not to pack pick axes.

What with my trip tomorrow, I have been perusing the TSA website for potential lulz, and by potential lulz, I mean for lists of things that sane people would probably NOT try to bring on a plane.

As a collector of snow globes and meat cleavers, I can't tell you how disappointing this is.

*FYI, pre-purchase of art from the "Cheeseblarg Takes Manhattan" project through the donation link on "The Good, the Bad, and the Cheeseblarg Takes Manhattan" is available until October 29th.  After that, art will be available for sale on Cheeseblarg's Etsy site at retail prices.

  1. When I flew last year I was allowed to bring my dry ice and my extensive collection of kitchen knives... so you are allowed some things.

  2. I didnt really bring those things... but thats what it said when I checked if I could bring knitting needles and small scissors in my carry on. It may have changed, that was last March. For the dry ice, it was like 4 lbs or something, and for the kitchen knives there was no limit, so I guess you could bring as many kitchen knives as you could fit in your bag.

  3. Have a great trip, JRose! It will be the adventure of a lifetime. Or at least it had better be, I need to be entertained!

  5. And as always, no remote-control airplanes are allowed. This is pre-TSA, and I always wondered why they felt the need to list this. Did somebody really want to fly a remote-control plane on a flight?

Someday this list is going to be amazingly long. "Can I play football on the plane? What about if it's just flag football? Touch? Okay, what about Frisbee? No? Work on my soccer skilz? Hackey sack?..."

  6. Advice: when your mass of adoring fans are waving goodbye at the airport be sure they say 'bon voyage' and not 'bomb voyage'.

  8. When I saw the sign at LAX airport about snow globes it cracked me up...I mean, really? What the hell are you going to do with a snow globe? How dangerous it could be?
