The Mouse in the House

There's a mouse in my house, which is difficult for me, because while I don't want vermin in my house, I like mice a lot and I don't want to be part of crushing their little skulls or otherwise ending their lives just to rid my house of creatures that are probably going to give me the plague, or Ebola, or some variation of mouse-related cancer.

But, if they would meet my demands, they could totally stay.

p.s. The Halloween Scavenger Hunt deadline is being extended as several people have let me know that they need more time. Remember, you don't have to get all the pictures... the person who gets the most first is the winner.

  1. There is nothing in the world I fear more than rodents. Seriously, I get anxiety just typing the m word. And the R word? Jiminy Christmas. I need a Xanax after reading this.

  2. I was told by pest control dudes that if you see one mouse, there are more. So even after you "catch" the little Jerry, set the trap again.

Oh, and to be fair, it's highly doubtful that they'd *fill* your house with mouse potties. They'd just pepper it a bit.

  3. I have cats that catch mice for me, but one tried bringing his catch inside with him a few nights ago. I'm still not very happy about it.

  5. I had a seriously traumatic mouse incident in my twenties that included a humane trap. That I forgot check for over a week. My stomach still knots up thinking about it. Good luck ridding your house of the little critters!

  6. This is so true! I just moved out of a craphole apartment with a really foul landlord, and we had mice. But I'm a jerk and the landlord totally deserved it, so I ignored them and lived with them for a couple of months.

Once you get over the poop everyone they really are quite adorable. I named them, and they bred.

    Bad Landlord = Karma

  7. I live in a basement apartment and this is the first time I've ever had to deal with mice! They are sooo cute (I have a pet hamster who I love and she is cute, so the mice are too!). But they keep me up at night (I didn't sleep for three nights because of them), they are gross, and they leave mouse droppings all over the place. I left out a humane trap but they always choose the killing trap over the humane trap! One mouse outsmarted two mouse traps (although I think they were defective) but then I got it the third go round. Anyway, I have killed three mice so far, which I feel so bad about! :( :( :(
