Sucky, Suckier, Suckiest.

Last week was one of the suckiest of suck weeks in my life. I just had to add suckiest to my dictionary, because really, it needs to recognize degrees of suck. So yeah, it started off innocuously enough with awesome stuff on TV. I don't watch all that much TV any more, but Sunday evenings, I am there from 6-midnight, pretty much. It brings me joy.  The rest of the week, not so much.

So yeah, I am back to being destitute, and my mom has thyroid cancer. She goes in a week to have it removed and hopefully that will be the end of it. They assured us that although it is a very large tumor, it is unlikely that it has metastasized, so she should be just fine... hopefully.

The husband losing the job is another matter all together. It took him a year to get a job last time, and places around here aren't really hiring, so I am trying to convince him to go pick up applications for jobs where he obviously isn't going to get hired wearing a magician's cape, since I figure he might as well be amused if he is going to be rejected. Also because flourishing a cape while introducing yourself and asking for an application sounds incredibly fun and the man seriously needs some fun.

So if anyone has an adult sized magician's cape they could loan us, just let me know!

  2. Jodee. This is one of those times that you want to say uplifting things, but everything that you can think of sounds totally douchey and ridiculous, so this is the best I can manage: I'm sorry man, everything about that week sucks some serious ass. I'll be thinking good thoughts for your entire family. *hug*

    1. I know. I never know what to say to people when something crappy is happening. I usually go with something mundane or something wildly inappropriate. Also, thank you!

    1. I am hoping for lifestyle I've become accustom to or spectacularly higher than I'm used to. Either would be fine. :)

    1. Thank you. I seem to have these epic crap things. Last time it happen, I lost my job, my husband was fired, my computer got a virus from sending out resumes, and our family dog got put to sleep. Within a couple days.

  6. Ughhhh, that is the worst. I hope next week you're all wearing gold-plated diapers. (I am with Skwishee - there aren't words to adequately sum up how much I wish your week wasn't a bucket full of suck, but I'll send whatever good JuJu I can send your way!)

In other news, that Chris Hardwick. Hubba hubba. Hour-long Talking Dead? Yes please!

    1. I KNOW! I try to get him to notice me, but I think I am too desperate for his attention. Some day, I hope to learn how to act cool instead of desperately geeky, but I won't hold my breath.

  8. I'm not glad your week sucked. It's just one of the first times a post held up to its title. But in the worst way possible. I have known a few people with thyroid cancer and the outcome has been excellent. As far as his job , hopefully the economy is in better shape than the last time. Prayers go out to you and your family. Hope this is a much better week for you all.

    1. I am now completely neurotic about my titles. I actually went back and checked them to see how misleading they were. Extra stress.. All your fault. =P

But yeah, I'm sure she'll be fine. And I hope my husband will be fine.

    1. My husband has a pig mask that is terrifying and he isn't allowed to wear it around me, because I don't like masks. I am sure he would enjoy wearing that to a job prospet, but here in Montana, I don't think he should startle people, because they all have guns and are ready for a showdown.

    2. lol! Once when he was outside wearing it at night, some chick hit our mailbox, he came running up to her and she totally freaked out. It took me 20 min to calm her down and convince her we were somewhat normal and would not kill her or shove her down a hole to make a dress out of her skin...btw we're in TX, but no one has shot him yet hahahaha

  11. I am so sorry for all the sucky crap going on in your and your family's lives right now. If I had a magician's or any other kind of cape, I would give it to you. Instead I'll just send many good thoughts your way.

  13. My thoughts are with you. My hubby has been going through that as well. He finally found a job after a while, then got laid off from that one, and is back to looking again. I hope things will work out for both of our hubbies!
