Cheeseblarg Takes Paris

CHEESEBLARG TAKES PARIS

Once again, I am in a juried art show that offers a prize for "People's Choice."  You are people, I draw cute llamas and impressive detailed structures, so how about it?

Please.

Of course, this is one of those pain the butt sites that makes you sign up for shit, but ALAS, there is a way around it.  If you would go to my profile (linked above) and click VOTE on the top right, it gives you the option of creating a new account OR login as a previous user. If you pretend you have a login already, you can log in using Facebook, so it makes it really easy.

The grand prize for this is a trip to Paris and a buttload of money, which would be freaking awesome. But even if I don't win that, I do have a chance to have my art shown there, which I am willing to settle for.

So, if you would vote, and get friends to vote, and strangers, pets if you have Facebook pages for them...I would super duper appreciate it AND if you leave a note here once you vote, I will send a surprise Cheeseblarg package out to one randomly picked voter in September.

Thanks, or perhaps I should say, Merci!

Cheeseblarg Takes Manhattan- Macy's Day Parade

I've not woken up earlier enough to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in years.  Certainly not since I moved to Montana, as we are two hours behind the East coast and I would have to wake at 7 am to see it (and nope, no DVR either) and I only wake up that early if I am in dire pain or my bladder is being a jerk.

But what good timing, my first piece from the Cheeseblarg Takes Manhattan series is done, and as promised, I have overtaken a famous New York landmark with a well known Cheeseblarg icon.  And in case you don't wake up early enough to see the Macy's Day Parade (which is what James, the fabulous tour guide, told us real New Yorkers call it), you can just pretend this really happened.

Do feel free to biggify this to see all the details that I spent ten hours drawing
(which is like the equivalent of 40 hours for most other artists).

Poster prints are now on sale at Zazzle in several different sizes if you are interested!

Everywhere a Llama, Llama- NYC

Since Saturdays are slow traffic days because, apparently, everyone else has a life and friends and stuff, I am going to share with you every single llama that resides within the American Museum of Natural History in New York City... because, I took pictures of ALL of them. Every single one.

To the LLAMAS!

Just read the label under it.

Those are llamas.

Also, a llama.

You guessed it, llama (and a cute spotted llama at that).

This one just wouldn't freaking stand still. I must have tried to take this picture about 30 times and this is the best of them. It was only about 2 inches high.... and is also a llama.

Boy llama.

Herd of gravy boat llamas.

I didn't see a single narwhal, but I was talked into leaving before I was done searching every room, in an attempt to get to the Bronx zoo before it closed.  We didn't get to the zoo because we started out late and had a few subway mishaps... but it gives me an excuse to go back.

Travel Fantasy: Saint Louis, Missouri

I'm absolutely in love with the St. Louis Arch.  Of course, like most of the objects of my affection, it is totally uninterested in me, and pretty much just tolerates me standing near it and sighing, because it enjoys the attention and doesn't mind stringing people along. But as much as I love it, standing under it, looking up, I feeling slightly nauseated and anxious because it is just SO BIG, which I suppose kinda works with the crush metaphor but also sounds pretty wrong in that context.
Fine, fine, I am more like a stalker of the St. Louis Arch, because I drive past it and stare longingly at it every time I have the opportunity, and I am afraid to get up in it, and it makes me anxious, but I love it so. I really do.

The Saint Louis Arch (at my last drive-by with photobombing llama, of course.)

This is my entry into the NileGuide Travel Fantasy Contest... and it is all completely true!

Picture pages, pictures pages, time to get your picture pages...

Aww, you guys! There are over 700 of you who actually allow yourselves to be seen in public with me now! Thank you! Without you, I would just be pathetically drawing silly pictures and writing to myself.

Here is your prize for coming on board the Cheeseblarg train. Wait, train? Wagon? No, no, this is a modern type of blarg, let's go with monorail. Yes, monorail of cheesedom.
Sorry, I'm tired, my smoke alarm went off at 4 am for no reason and I had taken a benadryl, and now I am awake this early for no reason, so... more rambly than usual.

Ah, yes, your prize.  Coloring pages! Everyone loves coloring pages, and you have 3 to choose from.  You can either post links to your colored pictures here (please make clickable links using "a href" html) or upload them over on the Facebook fan page (where I am actually much more likely to respond to people personally because the format is easier than here).  I may post some of the best/most amusing ones. Just click on the pictures below then right click to save, so that you can color them on your computer, or print them out to color by hand.

Happy coloring!

Everywhere a Llama, Llama.

I slept the majority of the day because I contracted food poisoning (or a 12 hour stomach virus) from what I thought was a delicious lunch from Shmacaroni Shrill, but what turned out to be a illness-inducing, while tasty lunch from said restaurant. I was also kind enough to bring my leftovers home to my husband so he could enjoy the experience with me.

Oh look, another photobombing llama!

This piece is actually for sale at Etsy.
