Winner, winner llama dinner.

I was quite pleased with the turnout on our first Scavenger Hunt, in that there was actually a turnout, and there were more than six entries.

Our top three winners, who actually left their houses to find all the items and/or interacted with other humans:

Ten Blue Stars
Kim (who inspired the hunt to begin with!)
Niamh

Lady-people, please send your mailing address to cheeseblarg at live dot com and I will get that envelope of happiness out to you by the end of the week.

And the next three, who had a mix of googling and human interaction are:

Sarah
Ms. MM
Bonnie

I loved your creative pictures and senses of humor in fulfilling my list. Thank you! Here are your personalized badges!

And to all the other people who have turned in their hunt finds, and who are still working on it, here is your badge.  It is on the honor system, but I will totally be mean to you if I find that you are using it without having  joined the llama games.

Please, go look at everyone's hunt results. They all did a great job.

As far as future scavenger hunts, I was thinking a Halloween Hunt might be lots of fun-- that is, that has to be done ON Halloween.  What do you think?

These are a few more of my favorite things!

I received this award from Mollie at OK in UK a bit ago (check another off my list of goals, though, I am glad to accept many more... many more... who would like to be my award coordinator intern?)

And it was supposed to come with the caveat of listing 10 of your favorite things, but that was waved for me since I am clearly too famous and important to play by the rules (which is not at all true, but I am a bit of a bastard and the point is, I was planning on doing these anyway, and it was convenient, though it took me a couple weeks to motivate myself to actually do my illustrations... otherwise, I may have taken the out and looked like the jerk I really am... which you now know I am from reading this... shit.).

So, my 10 favorite things in the following categories:

Food:
Bacon

Color:

The color of your eyelids when you close you eyes and turn your face to the sun on a warm day.

Sound:

A tie between

Get sound effects & royalty free music at AudioMicro.
The sound of a ratchet

and

The call of a mourning dove

Smell:

Dank Mud *scratch and sniff*

(I kid, leave your poor monitor alone!)

Cleaning Product:

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser- still...

80's Cartoon about underwater creatures:

The Snorks

Flavor of Pudding:

Butterscotch... mmmm.

Letter to write in cursive:

That's an L.

Kind of cheese (suggested by Bonnie at the FB fanpage):

Gouda... or Butterkase, which is really plain looking and not very fun to draw.

And finally, my favorite video game:

Na na na na na na na na na na, Katamari Damacy!

And... If you wanted to answer your favorites in these categories (with illustrations) on your blog, I will happily come and look at them if you direct me to the post!

Thanks again, Mollie... and I look forward to working with you voluntary unpaid award coordinator, whoever you might be!

Picture pages, pictures pages, time to get your picture pages...

Aww, you guys! There are over 700 of you who actually allow yourselves to be seen in public with me now! Thank you! Without you, I would just be pathetically drawing silly pictures and writing to myself.

Here is your prize for coming on board the Cheeseblarg train. Wait, train? Wagon? No, no, this is a modern type of blarg, let's go with monorail. Yes, monorail of cheesedom.
Sorry, I'm tired, my smoke alarm went off at 4 am for no reason and I had taken a benadryl, and now I am awake this early for no reason, so... more rambly than usual.

Ah, yes, your prize.  Coloring pages! Everyone loves coloring pages, and you have 3 to choose from.  You can either post links to your colored pictures here (please make clickable links using "a href" html) or upload them over on the Facebook fan page (where I am actually much more likely to respond to people personally because the format is easier than here).  I may post some of the best/most amusing ones. Just click on the pictures below then right click to save, so that you can color them on your computer, or print them out to color by hand.

Happy coloring!

Blarg of Note

I obsessively check my stats and so, at approximately 5:13 and 45 seconds yesterday, I started typing capitalized exclamations mixed with nonsensical obscenities at my dear friend, Vez (I'm big on nonsensical obscenities. They are much funnier when the word choice/combination makes no sense),  because I noticed a huge spike in my viewers while chatting with her, and those views were being referred by blogger's BLOG OF EFFING NOTE!

Yup, I have been pestering blogger for at least a month, daily, letting them know each time I posted, because I think I am pretty awesome, and HOLY CRAP(!!!) they actually listened. And now I have a bunch more people following me expecting continued funny... which is a whole lot of pressure, but I have nothing better to do at the moment so, WHEE!

Yes, I'm rambling. I am still totally excited.  How about I let the Cheeseblarg animals take over for the moment?

I couldn't agree more, Blue Whale!

Yes, llama, welcome to all our new friends and old! Thanks for all the comments and subscriptions!

Dammit, narwhal...

So, yes, this is my blarg. It is of note.

For those new visitors, there are tidbits of information all around.

Dear Valentine...

The cheeseblarg animals have some Valentine's cards for you.  They told me what to write, so blame them, not me.  Feel free to share them... surely they will be well received!

Happy Hump(back Whale) Day!

I've been thinking of taking some scheduled days off until I reach 100 followers... or until I feel less like poop... or maybe not. Don't know. But I do know that there have not been nearly enough whales on this here blarg, so I plan to remedy that.

I should probably complain to this toy company and inform them that humpback whales do not have big honkin' dorsal fins, but alas, I don't speak Chinese. Maybe it is just a growth. I shouldn't make a big deal of it, it might make the whale self-conscious, as if being body-slammed by Hulk Hogan wasn't bad enough.

Happy New Year!

It's been brought to my attention that saying "See you next year!" when parting with someone over the New Year's weekend is utterly uncool. To that I say thanks for reading and:

You Spin Me Right Round, Baby Right Round.

I spent the afternoon hanging out with my four year old nephew who spent the afternoon pretending to be different types of dinosaurs and spinning on a footstool that I used to spin on when I was a kid.  In fact, I procured the chair and ottoman from my grandmother's house when she died because it was THE best spinning surface that ever existed, plus she had good decorating sense.

Why do we stop spinning as adults?  I am sure my life would be much happier if I took some time each day to spin until I was a few turns before dizzy.  Maybe I should take a spinning class...

The Worst Gift- Orthodox Blue Whale

One of the worst Hanukkah gifts I ever got was this weird lump of a cat figurine.  I believe it was made of wood, possibly stone, and it was covered with goat fur.  It also had little realistic eyes that stared at me with malice. It looked like this, only less friendly:

The worst Hanukkah gift you ever got was an orthodox blue whale! Enjoy!

A Blue Whale in a Sombrero.

You would think, from pictures like this, that I actually like blue whales.

You should know that I am slightly phobic of them, in fact. When I did the drawing, the other day for my Whale Wars post, I had to look up reference because I avoid looking at blue whales enough that I don't entirely know what they look like. While looking it up, I came upon a picture of a blue whale eye and it literally made my heart palpate.

I seriously have no idea why I have a blue whale phobia. I first became aware of it while playing "Ecco the Dolphin" on the Dreamcast. Like the first damned mission was saving a baby blue whale who was stuck in a cave, while its gigantic mother hovers behind you whining at you repeatedly to save her poor baby, and I was so anxiety ridden that I never played it past that level. However, I do get panicky while playing video games sometimes, so at the time I just wrote it off as not liking the game.

Shortly after that, it was completely affirmed that the problem was the whale when I was watching Castaway with Tom Hanks.  A blue whale emerges from the sea and looks at him. Again, anxiety. Just imagining it while writing about it makes me feel kinda anxious (wait, that might have been a humpback whale in that movie, but they are close enough that my brain doesn't differentiate).

And still, no idea why I have this. I am fine with dolphins, orcas, narwhals, sperm whales (okay, maybe I'm not completely okay with Sperm Whales having just looked one up, but let's go with it), it is just something about blue whales.
I mean, they do look a bit like aliens, and they have those crazy songs, and they are FREAKING HUGE and ALIVE... but yeah. I don't like them and I don't want them, but perhaps drawing them will help.

Do you have a phobia?
How would you draw it to make it less upsetting?

Truth in Advertising- Whale Wars Edition

I was looking through the channel guide last night and I came across a show called Lobster Wars.  This reminded me of another show I've never watched called Whale Wars.  I am not entirely sure what either of these shows are truly about, but this is kinda how I imagine them:

Upon researching both shows, they seem to be not quite this exciting.
